Classes

Art's Obedience offers year round dog obedience and agility classes.

The obedience training classes are for the novice and advanced handlers. Students learn how to teach their dog to perform basic obedience commands and exercises, fundamental dog socialization skills and prepare for competition trials.

The agility training classes are for the novice and advanced handlers. Students will learn how to teach their dog basic agility foundation skills and how to train their dog to navigate and perform on all agility equipment. Students will learn handling skills (including front crosses, rear crosses, blind crosses, and sequencing) and how to read, analyze, and run agility courses and prepare for competition trials.

Classes offered:

Type	Prerequisite
Puppy	Less than six months of age.
Beginner	Six months or older.
Intermediate	Proficiency in beginner class (but not ready for advanced novice)
Advanced Novice
Open	Proficiency in advanced novice class.
Utility	Proficiency in open class.
Agility	Proficiency in advanced novice class.

Classes are open to all pure and mixed breed dogs.

Locations and times:

All classes are one hour and held once a week for 11 weeks.

Thursday morning classes:
	Newtown Neighborhood Park Kaahele Street, Aiea
	Agility - Begins at 9:30 a.m. This class consists of "backyard" agility practice for Sunday morning agility students of all levels of experience.

Wednesday evening classes:
	Heeia Neighborhood Park 46-220 Haiku Road, Kaneohe
	Puppies, Beginners, and Intermediate - 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Advanced Novice and Open - 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Sunday morning classes:

Newtown Neighborhood Park
Kaahele Street, Aiea

Puppies and Beginners - 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Ring Run Thru from from 8:30 a.m.
for Novice, Open, Utility

Advance Novice - 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Intermediate - 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Beginner's Open - 9:30 to 10:00 a.m.
Beginner's Utility - 11:30 to 12:30 a.m.
Agility - 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Rally - 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Registration and class dates:

The cost for obedience class is $25.00 for 11 weeks. The cost for agility is $25 for 11 weeks. Bring DHL and parvo virus vaccination records at time of registration. The dates for the next session of classes are:

	Registration: First Day of Class:	June 9 and 16 at 10:30AM June 30 (Puppies & beginners start at 10:30AM)
	Heeia Neighborhood Park	(Wednesday evening classes)
	Registration: First Day of Class:	June 5 and 12 at 7:30PM June 26 (Puppies, beginners, & intermediate start at 7:30 PM)
